System Requirements
For proper operation, the Asix visualization system should run in the environment of one of the following Microsoft operating systems: Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft Windows Server 2019 /2022 /2025 (using any of the earlier versions of Windows does not guarantee full functionality of the product) on hardware that meets the requirements of the installed operating system.
Installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is also required.
As of version 2022.1, two modes of browser applications are possible.
The first mode is to use the HTML5 standard. In this case, it is possible to use any browser that fully supports HTML5. Working in HTML5 mode requires the following components to be installed on the Asix application server computer:
- ASP.NET Core 10.0 Runtime (v10.0.xx) - Windows Hosting Bundle
- .NET 10.0 Desktop Runtime (v10.0.xx) - Windows x64:
- WebView2 component

The second mode of operation, is the so-called XBAP mode, derived from earlier versions of Asix. In XBAP mode, running the application requires Internet Explorer version 11. Due to Microsoft's withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer as of June 15, 2022, and thus if IE is blocked on the system, it is necessary to configure the Edge browser to run the Asix application in IE Mode.
On workstations used to generate a database of variable definitions based on Excel sheets, it may be necessary to install:
- Microsoft accessdatabaseengine.exe - 32-bit version
For the use of Asix software features that require the use of a SQL type database, the installation of a free version of Microsoft SQL Express / 2017 / 2019 / 2022 (for databases up to 10 GB) / 2025 (for databases up to 50 GB) or full Microsoft SQL 2017 / 2019 / 2022 / 2025 servers is required.
