For proper operation, the Asix visualization system should be run in the environment of one of the following Microsoft operating systems: Microsoft Windows 10 / 11, Microsoft Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 / 2025 (using any of the earlier versions of Windows does not guarantee full product functionality) on hardware that meets the requirements of the installed operating system.

The installation of the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 platform is also required.

From version 2022.1, two modes of operation of browser applications are possible:

• The first mode of operation is the use of the HTML5 standard. In this case, it is possible to use any browser that fully supports HTML5. Working in HTML5 mode requires the following components to be installed on the Asix application server computer:

• The second mode of operation is the so-called XBAP mode, which comes from earlier versions of Asix. In XBAP mode, running the application requires Internet Explorer version 8 or newer. Due to Microsoft withdrawing support for the Internet Explorer browser on June 15, 2022 and thus in the case of blocking the IE browser in the system, it is necessary to configure the Edge browser in such a way that it runs the Asix application in IE Mode.

On workstations used to generate the variable definition database based on Excel sheets, it may be necessary to install (32-bit version):

In the case of using Asix software functions that require the use of an SQL database, the installation of the free version of Microsoft SQL Express 2016 SP1 / 2017 / 2019 / 2022 (for databases up to 10 GB) or full Microsoft SQL 2016 SP1 / 2017 / 2019 / 2022 servers is required.

AsBase modules, AsAudit, Aspad with X and B type archiving, as well as AsAlarm and Asix alarm and security modules, require Microsoft SQL Server software to be installed.

The AsRaport report generation module requires Reporting Services components, which are available in the MS SQL server.
