Telemetric Application in Zielona Góra Waterworks and Sewage
Zielonogórskie Wodociągi i Kanalizacja (Zielona Góra Waterworks and Sewage) executed a system for the remote monitoring of the water pumping station.
In the first stage, the system included the Wiśniowa central pumping station, which was connected with four other pumping stations in the Centrex system. The pumping stations featured various measuring and registering modules equipped with a digital link in the RS-485 standard, executing Modbus RTU protocols. The modules within the control room were connected to one multipoint RS-485 network communicating via the modem with the central asix server situated in the Wiśniowa control room.
What is noteworthy in this application, is the problems with running the communication on the basis of Modbus RTU protocol with a multipoint RS-485 network, due to the fact, that it is impossible to set identical serial transmission parameters on all devices and that parameters determining the transmission displayed large time differences between specific devices. The problem was solved by the introduction on the side of asix of individual parameterization of the links on the side of master server, depending on the link, with which the connection was established.
It is planned to join the further pumping stations to the network with use of Satel radiomodems and Modbus RTU protocol.
