BMS-class Applications

 Economics Academy in Katowice

Two years ago, the Economic Academy in Katowice selected asix software as the platform for the BMS system, which successively integrates the subsequent systems installed in the main teaching rooms , and as a target, will cover all Academy buildings dispersed in the agglomeration of Katowice.
By 2006, BMS included:

  • control system for the ventilation of the auditorium and four other rooms based on 6 Simatic S7-200 controllers connected with the Ethernet network,
  • heat distribution unit control system, based on SAIA PCD1 controller,
  • control system for thr ventilation of two subsequent rooms in the neighboring building based on Simatic S7-300,
  • SINTONY alarm system from Siemens, configured for approx. 150 points,
  • fire protection and smoke damper control system from POLON containing more than 200 detectors, manufactured by Corral,
  • ProxNet access control system, configured for approx. 70 access points.

The application is very specific, due to the great variation of connected systems and the frequent necessity to use non-standard, proprietary protocols. The system works in a configuration containing the central BMS server and one network terminal situated in the office of the engineer responsible for system maintenance and operation supervision.

It should be emphasized that the presentation of the data acquired from the ProxNet access control system related to the movement of people was especially facilitated by the mechanisms offered by the AsBase manufacturing flow tracking module, and in particular, the database cross-section views, configured individually by the user from the level of the user application, depending on the required level of data analysis details and the preferred data sorting key.
