There are three technology of creating reports in asix system:
Taking advantage of the asix system open architecture it is also possible to generate reports using external tools such as Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
asix system reporter introduces simple, but effective language of evaluation expressions – such as average, variance, difference, maximal value, minimal value, gradient, sum, overflows, temporary value, trigonometric functions, etc. – operating on process variables (real-time and archive) and a language to define content and form of reports. Declaration of reports is stored as a plain text, which can be created or modified even on-line by built-in editor. Compactness of the language and formatting commands allows declaration of even complex reports in a dozen of text lines. In specific case, the calculated report may be an object located within process visualization window, depicting its operation by e.g. qualitative factors of system run, current calculation of production volume, operational characteristics of drives, current energy and raw material consumption, “post-mortem” report. Calculated reports may be exported in formats accepted by spreadsheets, database processing or Internet browser.
In more specific cases, the reports can be created as scripts within the VBS or JScript language.
Reports in asix may also be created with the use of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services. This is a complete server platform designed to meet a wide range of expectations in the field of enterprise-wide reporting. Reporting Services platform is integrated with Microsoft SQL Server and is also available in free versions. Reports are created in a fully interactive way with the use of free tools such as Microsoft Report Builder 2.0, or slightly richer functionally Microsoft Bussines Intelligence Development Studio. The clue meaning in Reporting Services system has a proprietary method of sharing data archived in a dedicated, ultra high-performance archive format of asix. This mechanism allows for easy and fast access to data contained in binary archives via a standard queries of SQL language. Moreover, asix includes the AsRaport - that allows for preparation of SQL queries in a fully interactive manner (that doesn't need expertise knowledge of SQL syntax) at the report design stage. Reports can be calculated and viewed in a dedicated report browser AsRapView of asix system. It is also possible to view reports in a web browser or other tools. Reporting Services reports can also be used to create reports related to the asix system alarms stored in SQL database.
So, the application designer has efficient and convenient tools for the preparation of reports and analysis for all users of the application - both at operator and supervision/management level.
