Alarm System
asix keeps a long-term log of events and alarms marked with a resolution of 1 ms. It is possible to save a current value of two custom process parameters (e.g. excess value and limit value ) in the alarm message text. The set of logged events can be dynamically modified through the exclusion of alarms and/or the change of the alarm filtering parameters on the basis of the time factor (hysteresis of a double kind). A wide choice of options for selective viewing of log contents and adjusting the layout to user preferences are available. The search criteria include among others: technological group, time range, text, alarm confirmation status.
asix system supports several alarm recognition strategies:
-
Bitmap strategy – periodical reading of bitmap from the controller, where each bit of the bitmap represents the status of a specific technological alarm recognized by the controller.
-
Limit strategy – executed directly by the asix system, which compares the current values of declared process variables with set high/low limits and generates an alarm, if the limit is exceeded.
-
Active strategy – based on messages received from the controller, which contain only the active alarms; alarms are identified through the alarm ID, optionally with a timestamp.
In case of network operation of the workstations, the alarm system offers:
-
automatic negotiation of alarms configuration,
-
synchronization of alarms on all operator workstations connected to the network,
-
automatic filling up the alarms log during the workstation restart,
-
ability to browse alarms from many servers.
